Team Meeting Grading Criteria:
Week 3

DESIGN: DID THE TEAM MAKE SUFFICIENT PROGRESS IN DESIGN?

Did the team make sufficient progress in the following:
•    Identifying users and defining the design problem and its various sub-problems (through attending client meeting, observation, online research, etc.)
•    Research Plan
•    Initial research and observations

REPORT:

•    Is the report sufficiently complete (with text, sketches, required appendices) to facilitate the meeting, and demonstrate that the team is on track in the project?
•    Does it emphasize key findings, conclusions and decisions with details explained in well-organized appendixes (appendixes might include client meeting summary, observation/opportunity report, detailed research plan with work distribution, Ram/Gantt, Project Definition)?
•    Is the report designed and formatted so that instructors can read the report quickly and find important details during the meeting?
•    Can instructors read the report without being distracted or confused by mechanical/grammar errors?
•    Did the team use an effective process (as explained in lead writer’s statement within report)

TEAMWORK:

Does the team have a plan for the next 3-week period and an effective team structure for carrying it out?

MEETING: DID THE TEAM CONDUCT AN EFFECTIVE MEETING

•    Was the agenda and presentation effective and were all team members engaged?
•    Did the meeting lead to decisions and action items that will move the project forward?

Grading Criteria: Week 6

DESIGN: DID THE TEAM MAKE SUFFICIENT PROGRESS IN DESIGN?

Did the team make sufficient progress in the following:
•    Continuing its research and analyzing the importance of findings
•    Generating alternatives and analyzing the objectives of testing
•    Creating mock-ups
•    Developing a plan for user testing and/or a plan for performance testing

REPORT:

•    Is the report sufficiently complete (with text, sketches, required appendices) to facilitate the meeting, and demonstrate that the team is on track in the project?
•    Does it emphasize key findings, conclusions and decisions with details explained in well-organized appendixes (appendixes might include client meeting summary, observation/opportunity report, alternatives matrix , Ram/Gantt, Project Definition)?
•    Is the report designed and formatted so that instructors can read the report quickly and find important details during the meeting?
•    Can instructors read the report without being distracted or confused by mechanical/grammar errors?
•    Did the team use an effective process (as explained in lead writer’s statement within report)

MEETING: DID THE TEAM CONDUCT AN EFFECTIVE MEETING

•    Was the agenda and presentation effective and were all team members engaged?
•    Did the meeting lead to decisions and action items that will move the project forward?

Grading Criteria: Week 9

DESIGN STATUS
Does the team have a final design (or clear direction) that meets the following criteria?
•    Is the design supported by results of user and performance testing; Design Review results, and failure modes analysis if applicable?
•    Does the design meet requirements as established in the updated Project Definition?
•    Is the final design or direction the result of an effective decision making process?

REPORT
•    Is the report sufficiently complete (with text, sketches, required appendixes) to facilitate the meeting, and demonstrate that the team is on track in the project?
•    Does it emphasize key findings, conclusions and decisions with details explained in well-organized appendixes (appendixes might include client meeting summary, user/performance testing data, Design Review summary, Decision matrices, Ram/Gantt, Project Definition)?
•    Is the report designed and formatted so that instructors can read the report quickly and find important details during the meeting?
•    Can instructors read the report without being distracted or confused by mechanical/grammar errors?
•    Did the team use an effective process (as explained in lead writer’s statement within report)

TEAMWORK AND FUTURE PLANS
Does the team have a plan for creating the final prototype, and for preparing the final written proposal and client presentation?  Can the supervisors be confident that the team has the organization and leadership to successfully complete the above?
