Sample EDC posters
Sample EDC poster (pdf)
From Phillip Jacob and John Anderson: This annotated sample poster from Engineering Design and Communication provides advice to freshmen creating posters for the Winter Quarter EDC project fair.
Typical WQ EDC poster (ppt)
From Penny Hirsch: This poster illustrates the poster advice from the EDC textbook: to highlight the design graphically without using too much text. This design was intended to help people in the cafeteria at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago move food from the lane to a table in an unobtrusive manner. RIC liked the design so much that they asked NU to make five Caf-Carts for their use.
Poster from NanoEDC (ppt)
From Penny Hirsch: This poster summarizes a module that EDC students created for a middle school classroom to explain the importance of measurement to understanding nanoscience. The poster is a cross between a dense science poster, which depends greatly on text, figures, and math, and an engineering design poster, which depends more on graphics to make an immediate visual appeal.
